Runner Information/FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the course USATF certified?
Yes-both courses are USATF certified:
Half Marathon: KS20226TJD
5k: KS20227TJD

How can I verify my registration?
You can verify your registration on your Chronotrack/Athlinks profile here.

Can I change distances?
Yes! You can do so by following the instructions here. Note that you’ll need to pay the difference in registration cost when going from the 5k to the half marathon. There are no partial refunds for dropping from the half to the 5k.

Can I get bibs/packets for a friend/family member at packet pickup?
Yes! Just make sure you communicate with them and get their packet to them before the start of the race!

Are headphones allowed?
Yes, but you must be able to hear your surroundings and instructions given by volunteers. It’s also nice to be able to respond to cheering spectators and other participants!
We strongly recommend running with only a single earbud in to ensure you’re aware of what’s going on around you.

Are strollers allowed?
Yes. We ask that participants pushing strollers line up near the back of the start corral, and please be extra aware of your fellow runners.

Are there awards?
Yes. All runners will receive a finishers medal. We will also have awards for the top 3 overall and masters winners (male and female) in the 5k and half marathon, as well as awards for age group winners in both races.

Is there a time limit?
We are requesting road closures to allow for a 16-minute mile pace for the half marathon (3:30 finish time). We will leave the finish open for longer, but runners who fall below a 16-minute mile pace may have to move to the sidewalk for portions of the course.
The 5k uses the same roads as the half marathon, and will therefore also have a 3.5 hour time limit.

Where can I park on race day?
Parking is available in any of the public lots in downtown Lawrence, on Vermont and New Hampshire street. Parking is free on Sundays. Grab a good spot and celebrate after the race with brunch downtown!
