1. Will there be food and drinks at the end?


Yes, we will have recovery food donated by HyVee post-race, water and Tailwind endurance drink for all participants at the end of the race, together with six aid stations on the course for the half marathon.


2. Where does the race start? Where does it end?


The Half Marathon starts at 7:30 am with the 5k starting at 7:45 am.  Both the half and 5k begin and end at Watson Park – 737 Kentucky Street Lawrence, Kansas

3. Where does the course go?

The race is a loop that covers historic Lawrence including downtown. Click here for half marathon and 5K course maps.

4. What if it rains?

We will run in the rain, but if it is unsafe to run/walk the race director reserves the right to cancel the race.

5. Do I have to register online?

Not only can you register online but you can fill out a MAIL-IN REGISTRATION FORM.

6. Where and when is packet pickup?

We have partnered up with Garry Gribble’s to be our official Packet-Pick up locations!


All participants will be able to pick up their bib numbers, timing devices, and event t-shirts at the following locations:

Thursday, November 3, 2016 – Noon to 8pm – Garry Gribble’s – 11908 W. 119th St., Overland Park, KS

Friday, November 4, 2016 – Noon to 8 pm – Garry Gribble’s – 839 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, KS

Saturday, November 5, 2016 – l0 am to 2 pm – Garry Gribble’s – 839 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS

Morning of packet pickup will open at 6AM at Watson Park near the Start/Finish line.


7. I registered but can’t participate; can I still pick up my t-shirt?


Yes. Please stop by and pick up your bib and t-shirt at packet pickup.  Shirts and medals will NOT be mailed.

8. I won’t be able to participate. Can I transfer my registration to next year or give it to a friend?

No. We are sorry, but there are not refunds and we do not allow you to transfer your registration for next year or transfer registration to another person.

9. I have a friend who would like to volunteer. Can he/she help?

Yes! We have ongoing needs for help coordinating the event and day of assistance. Email us info@healthcareaccess.org

10. Can a friend or family member pick up my packet?


11. Can I run with a stroller or with a dog?

No. Under USATF safety guidelines, this is not permissible.

12. How much time will I have to finish the Half Marathon?

The Half Marathon has a street time limit of 3 hours & 15 minutes giving you a maximum of 15 minutes per mile. Timing will stay open until the 4 hour mark. Anyone taking longer than the street time limit may have to switch to sidewalks to finish. Walkers are welcome for both the half marathon & 5K.

13. Will there be finisher medals for the half marathon and/or 5K?

Yes. Every half marathon & 5K participant will receive a finisher medal.
